IPP, the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, is one of the largest fusion plasma research laboratories in Europe (approximately 1000 employees). In addition to two major fusion experiments (ASDEX Upgrade, a medium size tokamak based in Garching, and W7X, a large stellarator currently under construction in Greifswald) and two theory divisions, it also houses the Max Planck Supercomputer (RZG).
