Applications and Community

The MAPPER project is driven by seven challenging exemplar applications from five user communities.

The applications represent large communities with clear scientific and societal relevance. Although the solutions we propose are generic and will enable distributed multiscale computing for any multiscale model fitting into our paradigm, we certainly aim to lift our specific applications beyond the existing state-of-the-art, allowing more advanced simulations which should lead to new scientific insight. All applications have been developed or are being developed in national and/or EU-funded projects. Currently all models are actively used in their respective communities to solve real problems.
